Vast Mineral Sands
Vast Mineral Sands is a mineral sands exploration and development company that is pioneering the discovery of a heavy mineral sands asset in Alexander Bay, on the South African west coast that is approximately 786KM northwest from the city of Cape Town, towards Namibia. VMS holds a prospecting license covering 83 263 HAs in extent, as well as a waste management license to process more than 100 million tons of tailings and slimes dams produced by the state diamond mining company during their LOM.
Testimonials
In a normal weathering and erosional environment ilmenite, rutile and zircon are stable. They survive transport by water in fluvial and littoral environments and can be concentrated both by water activity and by aeolian processes to form placers. Heavy mineral placers are formed by the selective entrainment and early settling of the heavy minerals from a transport medium when the flow energy abates. Placer deposits in fossil coastal dunes contain the bulk of the world ‘s titanium and zircon resources.
